Another way to effectively review previous concepts with students is by making a game out of it!
There are many variations to this game, but I will explain one way to play it here. You can call it "Spin to Win" or something similar.
Students are assigned certain problems to review previous concepts. Once they get their answers checked by the teacher, they can spin the wheel.
Decide on the winning color or colors for that day. If they spin the winning color, then they get a piece of candy, or a sticker, or whatever prize you have to offer.
If they don't spin the right color, tell them "Better luck next time" and they will try again.
Then, students complete the next set of problems and repeat the process.
Hopefully, after several rounds or days of playing the game, everyone will win at least once.

I prefer assigning one page at a time of these grade level end of the year review resources, or 4 to 6 task cards, while students are playing Spin to Win.
